Our specialty is catching Redfish year round. Winter and Spring is almost entirely artificial bait. We use Gulp, Zoom and D.O.A. soft plastics. Always on board is a variety of top water plugs that produce heart stopping strikes. From December through March/April, we usually sight fish the flats around low tide looking for schools of reds in the 6 to 12 pound size. Redfish or Red Drum as some call them are the same fish which gets up to over 90 pounds and is a popular fish to catch in Charleston SC year round . Charleston is among the top places in the USA for the quantity and quality of redfish according to research .

We will be fishing from an Action Craft 1802 Special Edition Flats Boat equipped with trolling motor, Power Pole and all current safety items. I use Shimano spinning reels coupled with St. Croix rods. All reels are spooled with 15 pound yellow Power Pro. There is always a digital camera on board to capture the fish of a lifetime, for viewing with family and friends. After fishing the SC coast for 38 years, I have the experience to produce a trip you will remember forever.

Tips for winter fishing: Wool socks, waterproof shoes (duck boots), gloves, layered clothing and polarized glasses.

Summer and Fall live mullet and shrimp are the ticket for hungry and aggressive redfish. Action can be fast and furious during peak times.

Low Tide Redfish Guide Service is fully licensed by the USCG and SCDNR. We are also fully insured. Safety is our first rule.
